She is an American music elite, an award-winning artist and multi-instrumentalist from Dallas, Texas, origin. She was born in Tulsa (Oklahoma) on September 28, 1982 and was called Annie Erin Clark. Her parents ended their marital relationship three years after St Vincent was born and at the age of seven, the musician, her mother (non-profit administrator and social worker) and two older sisters moved to Dallas, leaving their father behind in Tulsa.
Saint Vincent, who was raised Catholic, is of Ashkenazi Jewish and Irish descent. She has eight siblings (four brothers and four sisters) from her parents’ blended family.
