Isha Sesay is a media personality who worked for CNN International as both a presenter and correspondent until her retirement in August 2018. She began her career at the network’s Atlanta, Georgia headquarters before being relocated to the LA office where she began hosting CNN Newsroom Live from Los Angeles. Sesay also hosted the 360 Bulletin on CNN’s own Anderson Cooper channel 360° and co -anchored Evening Express, on another CNN channel , HLN.

Who is Isha Sesay? – Organic
The beautiful anchor was born in France on 6. January 1976 to Sierra Leonean parents. Her parents returned to her homeland when Sesay was very young and she spent her early years in Sierra Leone.
her mother, dr. Kadi Sesay taught at Fourah Bay College in Freetown before being appointed government adviser to Valentine Strasser in 1992. Her father was legal advisor to the Sierra Leone Produce Marketing Board (SLPMB) before his death in 1988.
Isha Isatu Sesay is the second of three children born to her parents; She has an older sister and a younger brother. She was a student at Fourah Bay College School, a private school in Freetown, before moving to the UK in 1992 to complete her studies.
After graduating, she was accepted into TrinityCollege, Cambridge, to study English. Isha always wanted to be an actress, but changed her mind and chose journalism. During her final year of college, she began sending job applications to media groups and organizations.One of her many applications went through and after graduating, she began working at the BBC as a researcher for talk show Kilroy, initially as an unpaid intern. Realizing her potential, she was hired on a full-time basis. In 1998 she joined BBC Scotland, initially working behind the camera before being promoted to announcer at BBC Choice .
Sesay presented many other programs on BBC and TWI before joining Sky in 2002, where she anchored Good Morning Sports Fans on Sky Sports News for three years. During this time she met and interviewed well-known figures such as Ellen MacArthur, Michael Watson and many others. She was also privileged to travel with the Arsenal football team to an exhibition match at Reebok Stadium in support of Nwankwo Kanu’s Heart Foundation.
Ishay later worked at ITN and hosted the ITV Morning News program before moving to GMTVs where she became the news anchor on the morning programme.
CNN career
In 2005, she began her career at CNN International Headquarters Atlanta, Georgia as an anchor and correspondent. She covered Nigeria’s presidential elections and interviewed both then-outgoing President Olusegun Obasanjo and then-new President-elect Umaru Yar’Adua. Later that same year she traveled to South Africa to cover the launch of the Global Elders.
Sesay became the host of the first edition of International Desk (a weekday newscast), launched in 2009. In 2011, she switched roles with Michael Holmes and began hosting Backstory . The following year, the show aired only on weekends, and it became the anchor of a new show – CNN NewsCenter.
While working at CNN International, Isha Sesay also hosted the 360 Bulletin on CNN’s own channel, Anderson Cooper’s 360° , and co -anchored Evening Express, on another CNN channel , HLN.
After working at CNN for 13 years, Sasay resigned in August, citing Trump’s coverage as the reason for her resignation. She also stated that she would like to support a girls’ children’s education project in Africa and do other personal things.
She has already started writing a book about the kidnapping of the Chibok girls and founded an NGO called WIR. can lead, aimed at providing educational support for the girlchild. Although the program is open to girls across Africa, she says she wants to start it and is primarily focusing on Nigerian girls to give them specific educational support to become future leaders in Africa. As of August 2018, more than 600 girls have registered with the NGO and are already participating in the program.

The beautiful journalist married fellow CNN contributor Leif Coorlim in August 2013 after announcing their engagement in January of that year. However, Sesay revealed in an article published in an online magazine What We See in August 2018 that she and Leif are no longer together. The couple had no children of their own. She currently resides in Los Angeles, USA.
