Simons eventually returned to Edgewater High During his senior year in high school, he averaged 23.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 20 games. His outstanding performances helped the school reach the finals of the 2017 FHSAA Basketball State Championship for Boys and he was named the 2017 Florida Class 7A Player of the Year.
