For any late ’60s hard rock and roll fans, especially those who knew the British rock band – Led Zeppelin and songwriters like Joe Cocker, seeing the up-and-coming American rock band The Greta Van Fleet would certainly seem like déjà vu. The youthful 4-piece Greta Van Fleet band with high-pitched, sonorous vocals and superb guitar combination and percussion takes the performance of their predecessors to the next level.
Young guys began to hone their skills from the tender age of 3 to 12 years, when, thanks to their parents, they began to play musical instruments. Now they already have 2 extended tracks and a studio album to show for themselves. Their efforts have even garnered them notable nominations like Grammy Awards in 5 categories in just 2 years. Their music has also led them to perform on the famous Jimmy Fallon night show and they also performed at the Elton John Academy Awards after party in 2018.
Who are the members of the Greta Van Fleet?
The humble beginnings of the members of Greta Van Fleet came in 2012 from the Christmas wonderland of Frankenmuth, Michigan, in the United States of America. The group consisted of a group of young men aged 19 to 22 consisting of Josh Kiszka, the twin brothers’ lead singer, and Jake Kiszka, the guitarist. her younger brother bassist Samuel Kiszka and drummer Kyle Hauck (who left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Danny Vagner).
Josh Kiszka – The frontman/singer
He was born on April 23, 1996 in Frankenmuth, Michigan USA. He grew up with his twin brother Jake and younger brother Samuel. Although there is not much information about her father, we know that he was her earliest influence in music because her father was a multi-instrumentalist while her mother’s name is reported as Karen Kiszka.
He has a distinctive high-pitched voice and his patterned, luscious movements on stage give the band some of their uniqueness. His vocal style and onstage energy have been compared to famed Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant. A skill he mastered and developed while trying to be heard over the blaring speakers during band rehearsals.
In addition to his role as lead singer and frontman of the band, he also plays the tambourine and is estimated to be a few inches shorter than his twin Jake, the shortest of the band’s members – 5ft 5in.Jake Kiszka – guitarist
He is JoshKiszka’s younger twin brother, they were born five minutes apart. He probably wears long locks so people can tell him apart from Josh. It was actually Jake who started the band. Again he wears today’s version of Jimmy Page . Jimmy Page was the lead guitarist for the late 1960s British band Led Zeppelin. Jake was attracted to the guitar from an early age and started playing at the age of 3. Jake’s earliest influence was Eric Clapton, whom he adored as a child. He stands at a height of 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in – we can’t be too precise.
Sam Kiszka – bassist
Sam is the youngest of the Kiszka brothers, he was prodded by his older brothers to play bass for the band in their garage days until he grew with him. He was born on April 3, 1999 in Frankenmuth, Michigan and attended Frankenmuth High School. Samuel excelled at golf in his school days, although he had to finish the Gulf State finals to take part in a music tour in Sweden. He has shared the stage with Josh on several occasions. Sam’s early influences were Motown music legends like Marvin Gaye, the Four Tops, as well as Joe Cocker, Beatles, Cream and others.
He has a better height advantage than his older brothers.
Daniel Wagner – drummer
Danny was previously a close friend of the Kiszkas, he officially joined the band, replacing former drummer and founding member of the band Kyle Hauck in 2016. He was born on December 29, 1999 in Michigan, USA. He played golf in high school and competed in state competitions for his school. He has a sister named Josie. Daniel not only plays drums but also guitar.
He can be described as the tallest man in the band, measuring between 5ft 10in or 6ft.
The band performed live on Saturday Night Live on January 7, 2019 alongside actress and Globe Winner Rachel Brosnahan.
