Paula Mcauliffe Obituary, Death – A woman from South Portland, Oregon, who was 71 years old and had just returned home from attending Christmas Eve Mass was struck and killed by an automobile on Sunday. Paula McAuliffe was struck while she was crossing Highland Avenue between Cottage Road and Providence Avenue.
She was approximately one block away from her home at the time of their collision. Tuesday, South Portland Police Chief Dan Ahern stated that she was not on a crosswalk at the time of the incident. An accident was claimed to have occurred on Sunday just after 5 o’clock. In accordance with the police, McAuliffe was transported by EMS to the Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she ultimately succumbed to the injuries she sustained.
The accident took place in close proximity to Otto Pizza and Red’s Dairy Freeze. Ahern stated that it is not an area where pedestrians have been hit in the past; nonetheless, neighbors have reported that fender benders and close incidents are not uncommon in the vicinity of the Cottage Road intersection.
McAuliffe and her husband have owned a residence on Highland Avenue, close to the location where she was killed, since 1995, according to the data obtained from the city’s property department. John McAuliffe, the husband of Virginia McAuliffe, referred to his wife as a “real dynamic” individual, but he stated that he was too “shell shocked” to engage in an in-depth conversation with a reporter on Tuesday.
