Nicole Brown Simpson Condo then and now, her children and sisters

For more than two decades, the 1994 murder of O.J Simpson’s ex-wife, Nicole, has continued to be a topic of interest, as has the criminal case. This is because of the tremendous drama and notoriety surrounding the lawsuit. So much has been said, written and subjugated about murder in America. While it’s still a mystery how Nicole’s brutal knife happened, Nicole Brown Simpson’s apartment where the murder took place still stands. Check out the apartment that survived the crime.

Nicole Brown Simpson Bio

Nicole Brown was born in Frankfurt on May 19, 1959. Her parents, Juditha Anna Brown and Louis Hezekiel Brown, were of German and American descent respectively. Nicole received her education from Rancho Alamitos High School in Garden Grove, California. She later attended Dana Hills High School in Dana Point, California.

She died in a brutal murder in 1994 that captivated the nation. She was married to professional football player and actor OJ Simpson but was divorcing the NFL star at the time of her murder. They were blessed with two children, Sydney and Justin.

Her death:

On June 13, 1994, Nicole and her close friend, a 25-year-old American restaurant waitress, Ron Goldman, were both killed at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California. Ron was also a part-time model and aspiring actor who longed to live a celebrity lifestyle.

The then 35-year-old mother was found lying in a heavy pool of blood. A post-mortem report concluded that Brown was stabbed multiple times in the neck and scalp. She also had a 140mm deep cut in her throat that caused damage to both the right and left carotid arteries. As a result, her right and left jugular veins were torn, preventing proper blood flow. In fact, the wound on her neck was so deep that it penetrated about 19mm into her cervical vertebrae and almost took off her head. Nicole also had some wounds on her hands which suggested she had made major attempts to defend herself. More plausible appeared evidence that the former footballer himself had committed the murder.

Consequently, Simpson was charged with the two murders. Despite this, he was exonerated in 1995 but found responsible for the killing in a civil trial in 1997. He was fined $33.5 million to the Brown and Goldman families for compensating family damages. Sometime in 2007, exactly 13 years before the day Simpson was acquitted of the murder, Karma swung through against the ex-sports champion. He was caught and sentenced to 33 years for stealing sporting goods from a Las Vegas hotel.

To this day, the killing remains a mystery. Meanwhile, the former sports star once hypothetically described how he might have committed the murder during an interview with FOX. He suggested that an accomplice might have been involved. In the same hypothetical account, Simpson agreed that at one point he took a knife from his mystery friend Charlie to confront a man standing outside Nicole Brown Simpson’s house.

He also claimed that he and his then-estranged wife Nicole had met at their daughter’s concert prior to the incident. During the event, the former NFL felt Nicole was trying to be a teenager again, dressing and acting in a way he felt was inappropriate. She also mingled with younger men. So he was fed up thinking about the impact he would have on his children. He and Charlie were pushed into confronting Nicole at the home after the event.

Nicole, who was dying to get her out of her house, fell and injured herself during the argument. This prompted Ronald Lyle Goldman, who according to Simpson had come to drop the glasses Nicole had forgotten at dinner, to try to defend them. As things heated up, Simpson claimed he had no conscious recollection of other things that followed.

How their love began

Nicole and her ex-husband bonded in 1977. At the time, Nicole was working as a waitress at a private club called Daisy. The club was located in Beverly Hills. She was only eighteen when Simpson, who was still married to his first wife, Marguerite, was 30. Their relationship began even though Simpson was married. In March 1979, Simpson divorced his first wife, and nine years later he tied the knot with Brown. This was five years after Simpson retired from professional football.

They stayed married for seven years and hadSydney and Justin. However, Brown filed for divorce on February 25, 1992, citing irreconcilable differences. The ex-lovers tried to get back together in 1993 but it probably didn’t work out.

Nicole Brown Simpson Condo – then and now

The Nicole Brown Simpson apartment automatically became a tourist attraction since it was here that Nicole Brown and her boyfriend Ron were murdered. The apartment had 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, various terraces, 3 fireplaces and a rooftop sundeck. It was reported that she had set up the space for a lease before Nicole’s death. After her death, the three-story home sat vacant for years, but luckily it sold in 1997 for around $590,000 ($200,000 less than the asking price). The new owner underwent a detailed remodeling and changed the address from 875 South Bundy Drive to 879. Sometime in 2006, the 400-square-foot condo was resold again for $1.7 million.

Simpson received full custody of Syndey and Justin. Nicole’s parents tried everything to deny this, but all to no avail. Meanwhile, in 1994 a foundation was opened in loving memory of Nicole called the Nicole Brown Foundation. It was later renamed The Nicole Brown Charitable Foundation . One of her sisters, Denis Brown, has tried to protect her purpose, which is to bring awareness, inspiration, and education to the American communities. Her other sisters are Tanya Brown and Dominique Brown.
