Ndamukong Suh, the football player, was born on January 6, 1987 in Portland, Oregon where he attended Grant High School. He played football and basketball, competed in track and field events, and excelled in all three sports. Suh played for the school’s soccer team as a two-way lineman. As a junior, he was honored with first-team All-PIL honors on both offense and defense.
His playing skills got much better in his senior year and his productivity earned him Parade High School All-America magazine honors Portland Interscholastic League Defensive Player of the Year (2004) and an all-state Class 4A selection.
After a very impressive high school record, Rivals.com considered Suh a four-star recruit and sixth in defensive tackle in the US. As a result, he was sought out by many colleges, but after some personal considerations, on January 20, 2005, he settled on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he would play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In his senior year with the team, he won numerous awards and recognition, becoming one of the most decorated players in college football history.
He was drafted by the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) as the overall runner-up in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Even though Ndamukong Suh is said to be one of the top tackle tacklers in the NFL, he has had many troubles since entering the league. His aggressive style of play has drawn criticism from other players and also from the NFL. He was fined by the NFL in 2014 for seven violations totaling $255,375. He also missed two games due to suspension. The suspension cost him an additional $165, 294 of his salary.
A poll of his peers by Sporting News revealed that Suh is “the dirtiest player” in the NFL. In 2012, a Nielsen report published by Forbes also showed that he was the NFL’s “least popular player.”Regardless of the negatives, the young man was named the NFL’s 24th-best defensive player and sixth-ranked defensive player in 2015. He has received many awards and accolades including Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was selected to 4 Pro Bowls in his first five seasons, was named All-Pro 6 times, All-Pro First Team 4 times, and All-Pro Second Team 2 times.
On March 11, 2015, Ndamukong Suh signed a six-year contract with the Miami Dolphins valued at $114 million, including a $60 million guarantee. This made him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history. Sadly, he was released after three seasons after committing two heavy penalties that pushed the team down. He now plays for the Los Angeles Rams.

His parents
Ndamukong Suh is a product of Intercontinental Union. His mother, Bernadette, is Jamaican and his father, Michael Suh, is from Cameroon. Ms. Suh, a graduate of Southern Oregon University, works as an elementary school teacher. Her husband is a mechanical engineer and owns his own heating and cooling business in Portland. Ndamukong had planned to work in his father’s company before discovering he had a very bright future in professional football.
The soccer player appears to have gotten his athletic skills from his father, who was a semi-professional soccer player in Germany, while at the same time playing for his country’s national team and working as a machinist.
Suh’s parents met in Portland, Oregon when his father was accepted into a Portland trade school. They later tied the knot there in 1982.
