American television meteorologist Maria LaRosa, who works for The Weather Channel (TWC) has anchored several shows since joining the station in 2010, including First Perspective, Your Weather Today, Morning Rush and Wake Up With Al

She is currently a field reporter, on-camera weatherman and co-host of Weekend Recharge with Paul Goodloe. LaRosa was part of the ten-member team deployed by TWC to cover the 2017 Hurricane Harvey disaster while stationed in San Antonio.

Maria LaRosa Biography,

Maria LaRosa was born on November 7, 1976 in Mahopac, New York. She was, however, raised in Ramsey, New Jersey. In fact, she introduces herself as a New Jersey girl, even though she wasn’t born in Jersey.

Growing up, LaRosa was a reserved science geek who would rather delve into his science and math books than chat with friends. Young LaRosa was probably too engrossed in her books to even notice the weather and speak less of a discussion with other people.

She attended Pennsylvania State University. When she enrolled, she didn’t know what career path she was going to follow, but a single visit to the university’s meteorology department was enough to convince her. Subsequently, LaRosa earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology in 1998. Prior to graduating there, she served as a teaching assistant for the University’s introductory meteorology course.

Fresh out of college, LaRosa began her television career as a weatherman and anchor for WTVM-TV, the ABC station in Columbus, Georgia, from 1998 to 2000. According to the New Jersey weatherman, the director news from WTVM-ABC bet on her and gave her a weekend spot. She also doubled as a reporter on the same channel.

After about a year and a half, LaRosa was given a spot on the morning show as a news anchor and then later as a weather anchor. In late 2000, she moved to WXIX-TV, a Fox affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she worked for 4 years as a weekend weather anchor. In 2004, LaRosa moved to KYW-TV, a CBS station in Philadelphia, where she worked as a morning and noon weather forecaster.

She joined The Weather Channel in 2010 where she started out as a co-host with Todd Santos on the Now and PM Edition weather program. Between 2012 and 2014, she hosted Pointe du matin and Awake with Al.

She also co-anchored the channel’s flagship show America’s Headquarters in 2015, alongside Sam Champion and Mike Bettes. She is currently a co-host of another weekend show. Weekend Refill with Paul Goodloe.

LaRosa is a member of the National Weather Association and has earned that association’s seal for broadcasting, namely the new CBM (Certified Broadcast Meteorologist).

This weather woman, like all of us, also has her favorite season of the year. According to her, she loves everything that comes with fall, the weather (as expected), food and holidays. She seems to be an indoor person, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and watching movies.

Kolakowski comes from a very wealthy background and is the only child in his family. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He currently runs a business near their home in Atlanta.

The couple have three sons. They welcomed their first son Michael in 2005. The second, Justin was born in 2008. They welcomed the youngest Tyler on May 3, 2010.The couple currently reside in Atlanta with their children.
