Jae Lin met her husband when she was a student at the Musicians Institute of Hollywood, Anderson was a teacher at the school, and their romance began within the walls of the school. Jae Lin’s husband, Anderson Paak, is a rapper who went through many changes and processes to get to where he is in the rap game today. As a child born in California, he witnessed his father attack his mother, which led to the latter’s incarceration and eventual absence from his life. Paak was born Brandon Paak Anderson in 1986, and as a teenager he started making music. His career in music got off to a good start in 2011 and in 2013 he started seeing success. Before going by the name Anderson Paak, he used the stage name Breezy Lovejoy with which he released his first EP.
He then released further EPs, as well as four studio albums, including Venice, released in 2014, and Malibu, released in 2016. Two years later, in 2018 he released Oxnard and then in 2019 Ventura was out. Due to the uniqueness of his songs, he has collaborated with other renowned artists. Some of these artists include Jhene Aiko, Dr. Dre, Mac Miller, Macklemore, and Ryan Lewis, among many others.
Jae Lin’s husband is also one half of the duo; NxWorries, with the other half serving as producer Knxwledge. The duo have been making music since before 2015 and they are on the Stones Throw Record. However, they did not release any albums until 2016 when their first studio album was released. Yes Lawd !
Prior to their signing and debut album, NxWorries’ EP Lien Up & Suede became a hit on SoundCloud, where it was released. Fans particularly liked the song Sweden, which featured a snippet of Gil Scott-Heron’s song The Bottle
