BIOGRAPHY
From his earliest childhood, Itziar Ituno was passionate about cinema and took classes at the Theater School in Basauri, his hometown. At the same time, and despite her desire to become an actress, she studied sociology at university and learned Basque, her mother tongue being Castilian. It is this bilingualism that allowed him to land his first roles on television and to make his debut on Basque public channels.
Itziar began by playing in the television film, Agur Olentzero , at the age of 23, before moving on to theater plays and obtaining a small cinema contract in 2003 in El final de la noche . But the young woman prefers to return to the small screen and is particularly noted thanks to the character of Nekane Beitia, a lesbian police officer, whom she plays in the soap opera Goenkale from 2008 to 2015, the year the series was canceled.
A notoriety which offered him new cinematographic opportunities in independent Spanish films such as the comedy Loreak in 2014 and the drama Igelak in 2016.
The following year, it was a supporting role as a policewoman in La Casa de Papel on Netflix, which gave him allows it to be recognized throughout the world. Itziar plays a negotiator responsible for putting an end to a heist. Success was immediate and it was the recognition he needed to leave the borders of the Basque Country.
Beyond comedy, she is also a singer in three different music groups and was a presenter of the Basque cinema gala and the 65th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival on television in 2017. Manon
