An Australian fitness influencer has split from her husband just four months after their dream wedding.
Sophie Guidolin married Gold Coast dentist Dr Andrew Firgaria in Byron Bay in November after a fairytale romance that saw them tie the knot less than a year after they first started dating.
In January, Sophie announced they were expecting their first child together. She has four other children from her previous marriage while Andrew has two daughters.
The pair sadly lost the baby, a little girl named Pixie, shortly after with reports stating she was “stillborn”.
Since their tragic loss, followers noticed Sophie had stopped posting photos of Andrew on social media.
The 33-year-old even scrubbed her Instagram account of photos of them together, including their wedding snaps.
Now Andrew has confirmed the confirmed the two have ended their relationship in an Instagram comment on Wednesday.
Responding to a follower’s question about his marriage, the dentist said he was “not willing” to discuss the details of what happened.
“In order to remove the constant speculation I’ll answer this once by saying we are no longer together,” he wrote.
“I have my reasons why and I’m not prepared to discuss this matter any further.”
He added that he “wants people to refrain” from commenting on the relationship as “nothing positive can come from discussing it further” and stressed the only reason he was confirming the break-up was for his mental health.
Rumours about the couple’s marriage was in trouble have been swirling for months, after fans noticed Andrew wasn’t with Sophie at the hospital after losing the baby.
When quizzed where her husband was, Sophie claimed he was overseas with his two children.
She also told fans she had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.
It’s not clear how far along in the pregnancy she was – but she told fans she “gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Pixie, via C-section born stillborn”.
“I cannot begin to articulate my pain, grief and despair through my entire soul,” she wrote.
“I have always believed that the universe has my back and no matter how confusing this all feels, I am trying to make sense of this grief with my faith.
“I don’t even have the words on how to write or how to comprehend this. Maybe some souls were always meant to be angels.”
Sophie and Andrew had been friends for 10 years before she realised he was her “ideal man” and they became an item in January 2022.
Five months after they started dating, the pair got engaged in Santorini, Greece. They married four months later in a ceremony Sophie described as “incredible”.
