Gavin Free is an English actor, internet personality, cinematographer and director. He gained attention and acclaim for his work with Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC. Rooster Teeth is an American production company with offices in Los Angeles, California and Austin, Texas. The company was founded in 2003 by Matt Hullum, Gus Sorola, Jason Saldaña, Burnie Burns, Joel Heyman and Geoff Ramsey.
Gavin is known for his work at Rooster Teeth when he served as creative director. He personally directed many of their projects, including directing the seventh season of their sci-fi web series Red Vs Blue. He also managed their miniseries, Relocated and their Achievement Hunter game division.
He is also co-creator and co-organizer of the popular Youtube series – Slow Mo Guys; which features slow motion footage of different stunts and experiments. Their experiments and stunts have gone viral on several occasions and have even been featured on the popular late night show – The Tonight Show.
As a slow motion cinematographer he has also worked on feature films such as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Hot Fuzz, Dredd and Snow White and the Huntsman.

Gavin Free was born on May 23, 1988 in Thame, Oxfordshire, England. He attended Lord Williams’s School, a coeducational secondary school in Thame, Oxfordshire.
For a while he worked in a branch of Waitrose, a chain of British supermarkets. At Waitrose, he met Daniel Gruchy – a fellow entertainer, podcast host and internet and YouTube personality. Gruchy would later become the other half of the Slow Mo Guys, which would propel them to internet fame.
In 2006, Gavin joined Green Door Films, which is considered innovative because it was the first European production company to adopt Phantom high-speed digital cameras as a source of slow motion. At Green Door, he worked as a cameraman and computer technician.
