BIOGRAPHY
Florinda Meza García is a Mexican actress, writer, producer, singer and broadcaster, born on February 8, 1949, in Juchipila, Zacatecas, Mexico. When she was little, her parents separated from her and she was left in the care of her grandparents, who later died, leaving Florinda and her siblings adrift. This event helped shape her personality and her determined character.
During her youth, she studied dramatic art at ANDA (National Association of Actors), in addition to working as a television commercial model and other jobs to finance her studies. Her qualities and charisma were very evident, which is why she joined Roberto Gómez Bolaños’ team in 1969. It was he who discovered her while she was acting in the sketches of ‘La Media Orange’ and ‘La Chismosa’, which earned her an invitation. to be part of the program ‘The super geniuses of the square table’.
With the merger of Televisora Independiente de México and Telesistema Mexican, forming the company Televisa, Florinda would become the female star of the series Chespirito , performing various characterizations such as Doña Florinda, La Chimoltrufia, La Popis and Rosa la Rumorosa, demonstrating her talent. literary, which is perceived in several adaptations of Chespirito’s chapters where he becomes the scriptwriter of the program.
With the success and popularity of her character from ‘La Chimoltrufia’, Florinda Meza introduced her weekly magazine based on this character to the market, which achieved great editorial success. She herself always supervised the content and quality of said publication. In addition to the success achieved as a comedian and actress, Florinda has produced and written several novels such as María de Nadie (1985), Milagro y Magica (1991), La Dueña (1995) and Una vez siempre siempre alas (1997). Currently, Florinda is retired from entertainment and is the widow of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, alias, Chespirito.
