Born to parents, Geoffrey Atkins and Sandy Nelson, on February 7, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, American Essence Atkins spent her early days in her hometown of Brooklyn. She has not revealed that she has any siblings. But there were rumors in the late 90’s that she is related to the Mowry brothers.
