Donald Edmond Wahlberg was born on August 17, 1969 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He started his career as a teenager. As a 15-year-old, he was approached to join a proposed boy band put together by famed musician/record producer Maurice Starr. The group became known as New Kids on The Block and had other members such as Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre and Jonathan Knight.
