Archie Miller: Early Life

Born Ryan Joseph Miller to basketball’s own father, John Miller, Archie was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, United States, on October 30, 1978.

Archie and his brother played for their father’s team that he coached at Blackhawk High School. John is Archie’s first teacher and Archie earned the title of coachman from his father. Not only the Miller brothers, but their sister Lisa fell in love with the same passion; he played Division I college basketball.

Also, Archie’s brother Sean is the head coach of the Arizona Wildcats men’s basketball team at the University of Arizona. Sean has received the Pac-12 Coach of the Year three times. Also, Sean is Archie’s role model.

In addition to playing basketball, Miller graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. While still in college, Miller played for the Wolfpacks and won the ACC Championship for his team. It was at the same university where he met his current wife, Morgan Nicole Cruse Miller.

Archie Miller: beginning of professional life

The 40-year-old coach started professionally at the age of 25. He initially started as an assistant coach with the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers. After that, he joined to coach the North Carolina State University Wolfpacks during 2004. And then, before moving to Ohio, he coached the Arizona State University Sun Devils.

Later, from 2009 to 2011, Miller joined to coach the Arizona State University Sun Devils. In the period from 2011 to 2017, when Miller managed the men’s basketball for the University of Dayton Flyers, the team accumulated good points. And so is Miller, who was a finalist for the 2015 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award.

The athlete is currently coaching the Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball team . At one point, Archie Miller continued to coach the USA Basketball U-19 World Championship when his brother was the head coach.
